Scott and Sandy Blackman have lived their entire lives along the Oregon coast. Scott, a pioneer surfer, has been photographing the evolving surf culture since the mid 1960s. Sandy is a successful writer and storyteller. Together the Blackmans have become the historians of Oregon’s pioneer surfing years. They have donated images and stories to the Lincoln County Historical Society. Their mission is to preserve the history of surfing along Oregon’s coast.
Sandy is in the process of writing a third book on Oregon Surfing from the 1960s to the present. She is currently accepting submissions from surfers. For more info on submission guidelines and deadlines, email Sandy at: scottsreef@outlook.com.
