Scott and Sandy Blackman have lived their entire lives along the Oregon coast. Scott, a pioneer surfer, has been photographing the evolving surf culture since the mid 1960s. Sandy is a successful writer and storyteller. Together the Blackmans have become the historians of Oregon’s pioneer surfing years. They have donated images and stories to the Lincoln County Historical Society. Their mission is to preserve the history of surfing along Oregon’s coast.
Sandy is in the process of writing a third book on Oregon Surfing from the 1960s to the present. She is currently accepting submissions from surfers. For more info on submission guidelines and deadlines, email Sandy at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Scott and Sandy co-authored ‘Oregon Surfing: Central Coast’ in 2014 and ‘Oregon Surfing: North Coast’ in 2016. After collecting 50 years of surfing stories the Blackman’s decided to write a third book on Oregon surfing. Sandy is currently working on the book. It will cover surfers and surfing along the entire Oregon coastline from the 1960s to the present. She is accepting submissions for the book.
